Swiss Annual Conference on Sustainability: The Forum ö
Organized by öbu (The Association for Sustainable Business), the Forum ö which will take place on October 26 in Zurich is an annual conference in Switzerland dedicated to sustainable business.
Sustainability" is derived from the English term "sustain", meaning "to maintain". However, the basic idea of the regenerative economy goes one step further: In an economic system that must learn to deal with resource scarcity, simply maintaining the status quo is not enough. The regenerative economy seeks not only to preserve what exists, but also to give back. It seeks to have a positive impact on the environment, society and the economy.
In the midst of biodiversity crisis, climate emergency and social inequalities, the Forum ö 2023 sets an example for a regenerative economy. The event brings together around 300 committed personalities from the fields of sustainability, innovation & procurement, members of the management of leading Swiss companies, as well as personalities from science, civil society, politics and administration. In diverse breakout sessions and inspiring keynotes such as "business as unusual" or "Leadership for a regenerative economy."
The opening keynote entitled "New directions or old patterns? Boldly Towards a Regenerative Economy" will be presented at this year's conference by Prof. Dr. Stephan Hankammer from the Institute for Regenerative Economics.
The program offers inspiration and highlights paradigm shifts as well as practical opportunities for action. "Together we define the paths to a regenerative economy and with new knowledge, food for thought and useful contacts, they can get started in practice."
