SVC President Andreas Gerber steps down
At yesterday's board meeting of the SME network SVC (Swiss Venture Club), SVC President Andreas Gerber announced his resignation as of December 31, 2023. Until the next general meeting in September 2024, Hans Baumgartner will be responsible for the SVC's business on an interim basis as Vice President.
Andreas Gerber, former Head of Corporate Banking at Credit Suisse, has worked for the SVC in various roles over the past 20 years, as Regional Manager in the Espace Mittelland and the Zurich economic region and as a jury member in these regions. In September 2017, he took over the SVC presidency as successor to SVC founder and long-standing association president Hans-Ulrich Müller. During Gerber's six-year term of office, the SVC was able to further establish itself as the most inspiring SME network in Switzerland. Among other things, the Prix SVC Genève opened up another important economic region with its own award ceremony, the digitalization of the SVC was driven forward and the membership base grew by a good 20 % to a new record level. As SVC President, Andreas Gerber put his heart and soul into promoting SMEs, entrepreneurship and Switzerland as a business location.
The SVC Board of Directors has decided that Andreas Gerber's successor will be decided at the next Annual General Meeting on September 3, 2024. Until then, Hans Baumgartner, SVC Board member since 2019, will assume the SVC President's responsibilities ad interim in his role as Vice President.
