Computer science students at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts celebrate their graduation
On July 12, 2024, 230 graduates of the Department of Computer Science at HSLU received their Bachelor's or Master's diplomas. In addition, twelve prizes were awarded for outstanding achievements or theses.
173 women and men graduated with a Bachelor's degree in computer science. This included 14 graduates from the Digital Ideation course and 32 from the Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning course. With the program launched in 2020, the department is responding to the increasing demand for specialists in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics. Graduates will be able to apply the latest AI methods correctly and develop AI systems themselves - be it in the field of image and video analysis, the optimization of industrial processes or for the development of diagnostic systems in medicine.
The department's second youngest degree course continues to be very popular: 57 of the 173 graduates completed their Bachelor of Computer Science in Information & Cyber Security. The course was launched in 2018 and enables young professionals to develop and operate secure IT infrastructures.
In addition, 45 people graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems. 12 students received a Master's degree in Information Technology.
The graduation ceremony took place on Friday, July 12, 2024 at the Theater Casino Zug. Prizes for outstanding degrees, academic achievements and theses were also awarded during the ceremony.
Graduates of the Bachelor in International IT Management and the Master in IT, Digitalization & Sustainability will receive their diplomas and prizes in August 2024. The graduation ceremony for the Master in Information Systems will take place in September 2024.
