CEO Martin Lorenz to leave Competec Group 2024
There will be a change of CEO at the top of the Competec Group, which includes the well-known trading companies BRACK.CH and Alltron, next year.
The Competec Group, which just a moment ago had a successful Implementation of their "in-house exhibition" Connect 2023 report was allowed to, announces a change at the top of the company: The Board of Directors and Martin Lorenz have determined that they have different views on the future direction of the Group. They have agreed to part ways by June 2024. Until then, Martin Lorenz and his team will remain responsible for operations. The search for a successor under the leadership of Rolf Schmid is already underway.
Competec Group: Growth under Martin Lorenz
Martin Lorenz joined the Competec Group in 2008 as Chief Financial Officer. In the course of a reorganization, Lorenz also headed the newly formed Operations division from the end of 2015. In 2018, Lorenz took over as Competec CEO from Roland Brack, who from then on concentrated on his tasks as Chairman of the Board of Directors and start-up investor. Lorenz continued to hold the position of CFO until the dual role was decoupled at the beginning of this year and Andrea Tranel took up her position as the new CFO.

Rapid growth phase
During Martin Lorenz's tenure of five and a half years, Competec experienced impressive development. Sales rose almost to 1.17 billion Swiss francs, and the number of employees grew from around 600 to more than 1,200. Under his leadership, the B2B trading companies MEDiDOR and Schoch Vögtli were acquired, and logistics capacities were significantly expanded through the expansion of the logistics center in Willisau and the introduction of a third automatic small parts warehouse, "AutoStore. During this growth phase, Lorenz placed particular emphasis on organizational development and a corporate culture based on trust, respect and fairness, both in cooperation with business partners and internally within the company. He was also actively involved in promoting young professionals, as evidenced by his support for the "BRACK.CH ICT Campus" and the doubling of apprenticeship places for the 21/22 school year, among other things.
